ICE-RS cycle 2007-02-22
Summary
We'd like to start this cycle by welcoming 2 USQ staff members who will be assisting with the ICE-RS project on a part-time basis . Thea Russell who will be working on additional templates for ICE-RS, conversions of papers and PHD dissertations as well as general testing. Thea has already been using ICE to produce the e-JIST journal for USQ. Our other staff member who is joining us is Torben Marcussen, who be working on usability improvements for the ICE templates and other programming requirements for the ICE application.
In the previous cycle we released ICE 1.1 to improve support for MathType and media objects which have been implemented using valid strict XHTML. Full testing of Books was not completed as the need to release the version out weighted the remaining testing required. Daniel setup 2 EPS operators for testing the python render and which will begin this cycle.
We have spec'd out the initial development requirements for annotations and added an ICE annotation component for tickets. Ron has continued with resolving bugs and improvements from feedback and has also started on the re-factoring required for the server version.
This cycle we will working on annotations, re-factoring for the server version, setting up new pilot users, the APA template and template usability and features required for version 2 – mainly the python render.
