ICE-RS cycle 2007-04-05

Summary

Over the last 2 cycles we have been looking for programmers and have hired one casual whom will be starting in April. In the previous cycle a call was put out to USQ students interested in programming for the ICE project. Time spent on going through resumes along with investigating problems with generating Books has meant not as much effort was spent on the tasks we said we'd do. We did manage to release ICE 1.2 beta, which has a separate tool to update the application without having to make a new installer, along with the updated user guide. We also got the ICE server connecting to the RUBRIC LDAP which means we can have external pilot users.

This cycle will be much the same. We are talking with four interested students for another programmer position. This cycle we need to do more testing of Books especially those with MathType and log any findings with OpenOffice.org.

Predicted work units: 50 (9 day cycle)
