Summary
With the introduction of Word 2007 to the USQ image and the potential use of the file extension .docx, we have noted that OpenOffice cannot handle the docx file's inserted images. When OpenOffice opens such a file the images disappear and are replaced by small bluesquares at the top of the document, near the title. Referencing the image in the file itself has changed and we will need to cater for this. See OpenOffice ticket #89942
Last week we discovered a bug in OpenOffice3 which was affecting exports to CD for the USQ DiReCt content. The location of a linked pdf file changed during export to a local copy and URLs had to be changed accordingly, but the link OOo gave it was different again, causing linking errors. We have reported this issue to OpenOffice #98211
Testing the CD export for DiReCt is proving difficult because courses with a variety of content are hard to find.
We discussed Moodle's case sensitivity and we will test this in the coming weeks.
Changes were made to ICE to allow Tags to be hidden via configuration settings because not all installations will require this facility.
Speadsheet rendering has been underway; ods to html is now complete with excel being considered soon. Testing of the transformation will occur shortly.
We intend to demonstrate 5thGen this week and discuss how we will progress with this project. We are hoping Shirley Reushle will provide us with some enlightened advice from an academic user and research perspective.
We will investigate the possibility of using javascript to cater for png image transparency in IE6.
Improved toolbar testing will be our focus in the coming weeks with further improvements planned on the development of the toolbar.
Tidying up the wiki and Trac interfaces will be a priority, along with researching a trac aggregation system for the various projects.
Naturally, bug fixing and stabilization, along with user testing and pilots for ICE2.0 will continue.

About the cycle notes
The cycle notes are used to summarize the outcomes of the completed cycle and provide stake-holders with an overview of the tasks for the next cycle. They are also used to raise any issues for discussion and provide other information for those who are unable to attend the meetings.
