ICE cycle 2009-04-03
Summary
This week USQ have started to put together an installation script containing ICE2 and OpenOffice3.0.1 for USQ use. Initial testing is pleasing with just a couple of minor changes to complete. The training room for USQ will be tested today or tomorrow, depending when the installation script is ready.
Documentation of ICE2 specific installations is being put together for all platforms and will be updated on the website soon.
We are in the process of discussing with USQ staff as to the need for books of readings for CDs as part of the CD export with DiReCt integration our concern is the size of such a process. Meetings are to take place this week to clarify.
We are finding that IE7 is failing to load pages initially, a refresh usually corrects the view. It is thought a caching issue is the reason, further investigation is required. Firefox displays pages correctly, everytime.
Linda has been busy bug fixing, and restructuring her pdf_utils to the plugins directory. She has also been working on a file watcher system for Linux.
Cynthia has been fixing the ATOM Pub and HTML functionality for the toolbar. The differing list items problem that was experienced between OOo2 and Ooo3 will be corrected using an import of styles from the ice.dot.
Oliver has been occupied this week on an ADFI internal project, while Ron has been working on a File Watcher for Windows, but is finding it tricky as iron python isn't supported as a service under Windows.
The ADFI website is under-going a facelift and Peter, Shirley and Duncan have been contributing.
Eric described the ViewFinder the Library have implemented using a SOLR indexer and we will see a demonstration after the Easter break.
We are looking forward to a visit this month by Peter Murray-Rust who will undoubtedly inspire us.

They are also used to raise any issues for discussion and provide other information for those who are unable to attend the meetings.
